Nag's Head Hammocks
4 Aug 08

So this isn't a hiking trip but I had to post these pics. Jennifer and I took our 10 year anniversary trip (WITHOUT THE KIDS!!) to North Carolina's Outer Banks. On the way we saw Nag's Head Hammocks...I've seen lots of their ads on the internet, and even though they don't really deal with camping hammocks I thought it would be interesting to stop by. Then we saw the sign for the WORLD'S LARGEST HAMMOCK and we knew we'd be stopping.

They have several stores...this is one of the smaller ones.
Here's a spreader bar style backyard hammock with a flop-over mosquito net. Kinda reminds me of the Crazy Crib but without the zipper.
World's Largest Hammock...at least they say it is. It was kinda damp b/c it's so humid down there, but it's pretty cool to lay in. Stretches a lot, too. I bet the kids would have loved to climb all over this thing!
Lounging in the world's largest hammock...after this I went inside and told them about Ed Speer, JacksRBetter, etc. Hopefully soon they'll start carrying REAL hammocks!
