Water Bag
This was a simple project. I cut a 27" diameter circle out of some silnylon, then started gussetting the edges. When it was gussetted, I rolled the raw edge into a seam at the top, then added some leftover 3/4" webbing as a handle, and sewed it between the lip of another gusset on each side. Done!
It weighs less than a 1/2 ounce, and is holding a gallon of water in this picture. | |
Sitting on a flat surface with a gallon of water. It keeps the water in, but I'm not sure how well it would work if it wasn't on a flat surface...I'll have to test it out.
Next time, I'll use about a 32" circle to add capacity and to leave enough material to add a raised neck to keep the water in while it's sitting. A more hydrophobic handle might be nice, too. |
